We are currently in search of a Community & Housing Resource Navigator for the District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH). The position is full-time, hybrid based in Washington, DC. This is a Permanent assignment.

 

ORGANIZATION: District Alliance for Safe Housing (DASH)

LOCATION: Washington, DC- Hybrid

POSITION TITLE: Community & Housing Resource Navigator

DURATION: Full Time

SALARY: $62,000/annual

 

Is This Your Dream Job? The Community & Housing Resource Navigator will serve as the first point of contact for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. In addition to conducting intakes, this position provides short-term advocacy and housing resources through research and referrals for internal and community resources.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience in providing advocacy services
  • Vast knowledge of community providers and resources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Compassionate, Mission-driven, and Trauma-informed
  • Initiative-taker and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual Spanish-REQUIRED
  • COVID-19 vaccination- REQUIRED

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Conduct intakes, create initial safety plans, and provide referrals to internal programs and community resources
  • Collaborate with DHS & internal teams to coordinate internal and external program referrals.
  • Participate in weekly Housing Resource Clinic (HRC) to identify and triage potential survivors in the community.
  • Maintain contact with survivors throughout screening and intake processes for DASH’s programs, providing advice and guidance throughout.
  • Complete follow-ups with survivors who receive SRF assistance at three, six, and 12-month periods to measure the impact of SRF funds.
  • Assist management in identifying gaps and potential community resources (housing and other basic needs) and programs to help survivors achieve goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation on referrals while complying with federal, state, and local confidentiality and victim services laws and regulations.
  • Educate survivors and the community on information regarding the programs and services provided by DASH.
  • Represent organization at outreach activities and key partner events throughout the community.
  • Consistently apply the DASH model and organizational policies and procedures for effective service delivery
  • Other related duties as assigned.
