JTCC, a non-profit tennis center, is looking for a Senior Accountant. This role will be an integral position of the accounting department and will be responsible for supporting the Director of Finance & HR. Duties include monthly reconciliations, department budgeting, audit and tax return assistance, billing and AR management, and software entry and administrative support for the department.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • At least 3 years proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of financial acumen and principles, including debits, credits, and general ledger accounts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Office, especially Excel
  • Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team


How You Will Spend Your Day:

Assists with:

  • Supervision of Staff Accountant.
  • Preparing financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
  • Budget preparation and management with department heads.
  • Audit and 990 tax preparation.
  • Preparing financials for satellite facilities.
  • Performing credit card and bank account reconciliations.
  • Approving AP requests.
  • Maintenance of financial records and system processes along with the IT company
  • Bank deposits.
  • Month-end financials and manages balance sheets.
  • Financials for grant requests and distributes invoices to customers, donors, and partners.
  • Monthly billing for High Performance tennis program.
  • Daily journal entries from credit bank activity.
  • Journal entries to subsidiary ledger and purchase journal.
  • Schedule of AR collections on the 10th of each month in preparation for collections meeting.
  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly AR aging reports along with recommendations for bad debt and doubtful accounts.
  • Analysis of members’ or donors’ accounts as required.
  • AR for proper COA coding (income, deferred, misc. receivable, etc.)
  • Inventory purchases and maintains purchase limits and disputes incorrect chargebacks
  • Troubleshoots financial discrepancies at the front desk.
  • Performance and accuracy of accounting software and partnership websites
  • Performance of collections company and provide additional assistance to them when needed.
  • Compliance of donor advised funds by maintaining accompanied documentation and tracking related expenses.
  • Accurate account balances and ledgers and reconciles any accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Proper maintenance and compliance of internal controls, accounting processes and policies.
  • Compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
  • Coordinates with and prepares reports for Director of Finance and Executive Team.
  • Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
