We are currently in search of a Case Supervisor for a nonprofit organization focused on supporting vulnerable children. The position is based in Cedar Knolls, NJ. This is a full-time permanent (Onsite) position.

POSITION TITLE: Case Supervisor

DURATION: Full-time, Permanent (Onsite)

SALARY: $50k - $55k plus benefits.

The Case Supervisor will report directly to the Executive Director. The person will supervise volunteers as assigned. The Case Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and management of all volunteer activity overseeing the management of child cases. The Case Supervisor will develop and maintain professional relationships with all appropriate parties including judges, the court staff, lawyers, and state and community agencies. The Case Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting with the recruitment, screening, and training of all volunteers. 


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a social service-related field or a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 3 years of work experience in a related field.
  • The ability to communicate with, empower, support, and coach volunteers to be effective in their role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics of families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Punctuality and time management skills, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Computer knowledge (Word, Excel, ability to learn case management database).

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

Case Management:

  • Develop initial case plan and ongoing strategies to assist volunteer advocacy.
  • Supervise and further train, guide and coach volunteers through child welfare court cases.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into case management database for reporting as required for State funding.
  • Keep necessary records as described by case management procedures.

 

Volunteer Supervision:

  • Ensure volunteers initiate and maintain at least monthly contact and record information gathered from all relevant professionals involved in the case.
  • Attend court days/hearings and meetings volunteer is not available.
  • Accompany volunteer on the first visit of the case, visit prior to reunification and other visits as needed.
  • Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer case records in accordance with case management procedures.
  • Be available for consultation and assistance to all volunteers.
  • Review, edit, and distribute court reports.
