Job Title:   Proposal Writer, Business Development Drug Manufacturing

MA CDMO specializing in large molecule manufacturing and development is looking to add to their dedicated team at their state-of-the-art facility to provide unparalleled resources for advancing biopharmaceutical products from development to commercial launch.  This role is an integral interface between the business development team, the operations team, and the client.  This role provides significant growth opportunities in the organization whether it is to eventually move on to operations, scientific, or business development roles in the future. 


Job Summary


The Proposal Writer will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development. The Proposal Writer will be responsible for creating customized technical sales proposal documents for prospects and clients. The Proposal Services Specialist works alongside business development and scientific-technical professionals to respond to inbound requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQs), and other proposal services support requests.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assists all aspects of quotes and proposal development adhering to agreed-upon proposal and pricing processes for custom development and manufacturing projects
  • Designs, generates, and amends standard proposal materials in order to fulfill specific client requirements 
  • Coordinates and collaborates with key internal stakeholders on resource allocation areas such as FTE’s (labor utilization), Capital, etc., to allow the program design, proposal generation, resource and timeline estimates, and pricing required for a robust and strategic project proposal.
  • Support business development team by taking and distilling detailed meeting minutes at client site visits
  • Support sales & revenue growth through client interaction and completion of RFPs, RFIs, etc.
  • Answer, edit, and complete sales proposals, client reports, consultant databases, and ad hoc questionnaires with accuracy and meet client’s expectations/timelines
  • Assist or lead proposal process improvement projects/initiatives
  • Coordinate all aspects of sales proposal document production process to assure the overall quality meets company and client standards
  • Research appropriate responses through supplied databases as well as any other identified sources
  • Interact with reviewers and obtain approvals on all terms of reference relevant to an RFP



Education/ Skills and Experience


  • MS or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline
  • 5-7 years of drug development, drug discovery, or drug manufacturing industry experience
  • 3-5 years of writing experience 
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people who possess a variety of skills, education, and experience
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational and project management skills. 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks while still maintaining high-quality deliverables
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team when required
