- Conducts GLP and non-GLP studies

- Focus on Nonhuman primate (NHP) and rat species

- Boasts 150 animal rooms and a dedicated team of ~800 employees


Position Overview:

As the Director of Laboratory Animal Medicine, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the well-being and health of laboratory animals in our state-of-the-art facility. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting research programs, collaborating with study directors, and maintaining the highest standards of animal care.


Key Responsibilities:


Clinical Duties:

  • Oversee the health and welfare of all research animals in our facility, personally and through your dedicated team.
  • Conduct daily observations of animals, meticulously document clinical findings, and promptly address any signs of discomfort or distress.
  • Propose and implement enhancements to our animal program to elevate the quality of care and streamline study processes.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of animal care and use training.
  • Provide vital oversight of our surgical programs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee a team of 6 Clinical Veterinarians


Support Services


  • Comprehensive support services include:
  • Formulations and Analytical Chemistry
  • Bioanalysis
  • Immunology
  • Molecular biology
  • Anatomic and clinical pathology
  • Imaging


Qualifications:

- Education: Doctoral degree (D.V.M./V.M.D.) in Veterinary Medicine and a Master's degree (M.S.) in a relevant discipline related to laboratory animal medicine.

- Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that meets or exceeds the specified requirements.

- Certification/Licensure: Hold a current license to practice veterinary medicine in at least one state.

- Other: ACLAM Diplomate Status is preferred, and USDA accreditation is desirable.
