(Associate) Director of Marketing- Life Science

We are seeking a dynamic life sciences marketing leader to build our marketing function from the ground up thoughtfully, and lead marketing strategy, global brand positioning, product/service marketing execution and employer branding for an organization that is rapidly becoming a leader in translational sciences. Consideration will be given for a Director level candidate depending upon years of experience.


Job Description

  • Establish and lead the marketing function within the organization, including evolution of corporate and employer brand positioning and product / service marketing activities
  • Develop targeted marketing strategies for our preclinical, histopathology, and molecular services business lines and service areas that align with each business unit’s business goals and revenue targets
  • Engage internal and external creative specialists to generate digital content for use in various channels, including but not limited to the website, digital marketing campaigns, and social media
  • Design, plan, and execute marketing activities for tradeshows, conferences, and recruiting events
  • In conjunction with business development, establish lead targets and demand generation plan for business lines and service areas
  • In conjunction with Management, set marketing strategy and maintain the corporate, business, and service line marketing calendar to enable proper planning and cadence of marketing communications to elevate brand and enable product / service launches
  • Establish marketing function annual goals, objectives, and individual KPIs
  • Report execution against KPIs and goals, and conduct performance reviews as the marketing team grows
  • Develop and manage a budget for marketing along with clear metrics for ROI on all marketing investments and provide semi-annual ROI information to the leadership team
  • Define key marketing metrics and manage the process of packaging these measurements into reports and dashboards to determine the overall performance of the marketing function and marketing programs
  • Maintain active communication with all relevant business units, collecting and processing information such as market requirements, industry insights, and customer feedback to incorporate into marketing strategy
  • Lead development and optimization of corporate and product/service line marketing collateral to ensure alignment with business leader objectives
  • Conduct regular competitive market research to identify new opportunities for differentiation and current best practice


Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess

  • 7+ years of directly transferable experience in Marketing within the life science industry; 5+ years of direct leadership experience
  • Deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape and vision to continuously develop our email and social media strategies


Basic Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline 5+ years of directly transferable experience in Marketing
  • Working to advanced knowledge of Salesforce CRM system
  • Working knowledge of tools used for marketing, advertising, design and printing including graphic design skills and associated software, including Adobe Creative Suite, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. (some of these functions are outsourced)
  • Working knowledge of web content management systems, as well as HTML (Some of these functions are outsourced)
  • Working knowledge of marketing automation platforms, as well as knowledge of Google Ad Words and Google Analytics tracking
  • Strong organizational and computer skills with an ability to execute at a high level while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Accurate record-keeping and compliance with company policies
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
