Job Description: Business Development Director CDMO


Location: North East- Work from Home

Territory: North East/ East Coast

Services:  Contract Manufaturing services for large molecule drugs, vaccines, and drug delivery platforms (mRNA)  ( CMO / CDMO ) 

Compensation:  $140,000 - $160,000 Base -  $50,000 commission

Travel:  Must travel to manufacturing sites for tours with clients. 


JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Director will be responsible for building and cultivating prospective and existing customer relationships. This role will research, identify, investigate, and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, trade shows, conferences, and various other means within the industry. They will be the primary liaison with customers regarding new business identification through contract fulfillment. They will effectively manage the transition to the internal project team once the deal is signed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Work closely with the leadership team to develop commercial strategy, goals, and actions

* Establish new company relationships within the mRNA industry

* Call on prospective accounts, provide technical and administrative product information, coordinate presentations, and support proposal generation

* Understand the mRNA market and be able to communicate the value propositions of the organization

* Work with internal teams to translate client needs and expectations into a reality

* Build new strategic contacts, networks, and business relationships

* Participate in company initiatives as required for securing new business and maintaining relationships with existing clients

* Negotiation of agreements

* Coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) response across the organization and with prospective clients

* Transparently track and communicate progress on new and existing customers with the Arranta leadership team

* Accompany and/or host customers for onsite company visits/audits

* Attend and represent the organization at selected industry meetings and conferences

* Work with internal stakeholders in manufacturing, process development, project management, engineering etc. to facilitate successful proposal, negotiation, and implementation process


Experience and Skills

* Proven sales/business development track record

* Bachelor’s degree in Business or related, Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related life science major is required. Master's Degree preferred

* 3+ years of Sales/Business Development experience

* 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry

* Key account and territory management experience with academic, biotech/pharmaceutical life science customers

* Needs an understanding of the pharma market initiatives and preferably having previous relationships with researchers in these accounts

* Results-driven, passionate, go-getter

* Must be able to build relationships through networking and referrals

* Polished individual with strong leadership and persuasion skills as well as delivery and closing experience. 

* Ability to multitask and to prioritize projects and customers

* Strong time management skills

* Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
