IPS is looking for an exceptional ML engineer to join our client's team and build out our core ML / AI from the ground up.

They are an AI-powered location discovery platform, where you can keep track of your favorite places and discover highly personalized restaurant and travel recommendations based on past places you've been and loved.

We have a really exciting vision leveraging ML and LLMs / generative AI to deliver an unparalleled, tailored-to-you place discovery experience. If you have a strong background in machine learning and recommendation systems, as well as experience or interest in LLMs, we’d love to talk to you.

Requirements:

• Experienced in ML: 5+ years of experience with machine learning** **models and tools** (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch), applied ML (deep learning, recsys, computer vision, NLP), and productionizing of ML models. 
• You have worked on recommendation products before, and are familiar and comfortable with a wide range of various ML techniques to drive personalization.
• Excited and curious by LLMs: experience working with them before a plus!
• A strategic technical thinker:  you will drive setting the ML strategy of the company and need to be able to look at the big picture to shape that.
• A builder: the idea of building your own recommendation system from the ground up sounds exciting and fun to you.
• A self-starter: you’re independent and thrive aligning with a team on a set of requirements and then taking ownership and running on your own to execute.
• A strong communicator and collaborator: we’re a tight-knit team spread across multiple time zones. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to success.
• Product minded: you’re passionate about building a world-class product, and are excited to be closely involved in product discussions; previous experience building consumer apps a plus.
• Cross functional: you’re comfortable working with designers, backend engineers, client engineers, or non-technical folks and able to translate technical details to their worlds.

Role Responsibilities:

• Design and architect our recommendation models, leveraging both traditional ML techniques and LLMs.
• Build out ML systems from scratch in a highly iterative manner.
• Closely collaborate alongside product, design, and growth to shape the future of the company.
