Summary

The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for summarizing and

curating healthcare data into optimized data sets for consumption by

business intelligence dashboards, as well as implementation of BI

dashboards primarily via Tableau (PowerBI is desirable as well). This role

works cross functionally with business unit stakeholders and the technology

team to drive dashboard projects forward and to lead on implementation of

practice facing BI solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Curate healthcare data from a variety of sources into optimized data sets for
  • consumption by business intelligence dashboards
  • Implement data visualization & dashboard solutions using BI tools (Tableau,
  • PowerBI)
  • Develop product and functional requirements, working collaboratively with
  • product owners and stakeholders to design solutions tailored to project specific
  • personas and goals
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest and process data from a variety of
  • sources to support visualization solutions
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them
  • into technical requirements
  • Work with data and software engineers to develop new data products and
  • features designed for embedded deployments.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in data engineering and data science,
  • including emerging solutions around AI based solutions.


Technical Experience

  • Expert level proficiency in one or more SQL dialects. MS T-SQL required, other
  • dialects desirable.
  • Expert level experience with Tableau required. Power BI desired.
  • Experience troubleshooting database performance required

  • Experience troubleshooting Tableau Server performance and administration
  • required. Experience with Tableau Cloud desirable.
  • Experience with Python, Spark, Databricks, and data pipeline engineering desired
  • Experience working with data warehouses and data lakes (Databricks) desired
  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong business analysis skills, with demonstrated history of engaging
  • stakeholders from requirements development thru implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
