Apply for this job

IPS is looking for the 4th team member at a rapidly-growing MarTech startup, founded by two ex-Dropboxers.

We help Marketing teams invest in the right channels and campaigns, confidently. This is a "Salesforce for Marketing" sized opportunity in a $1T market. Our product is powered by machine learning that forecasts returns and runs experiments to determine causal impact.

In 2023, we hired our first engineer in July, launched in September, and signed Square as a customer in December. We're also working with Bill, Samsara, Notion, Plaid, Ladder, and a handful of other fast-growing companies. We're currently just three people, and we're now looking for our second engineer.

We’ve raised a $2M pre-seed round and are backed by investors including WndrCo, Kleiner Perkins, Recall Capital, and Position Ventures. We also have prominent angels including former/current execs of companies like Dropbox, Salesforce, PagerDuty, Miro, Webflow, Asana, Pilot, Otter.ai, and Gong.io.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Building software
  • You will be able to focus entirely on building the product, and you will have the autonomy to make decisions and stay unblocked.
  •  Your work will be full-stack in nature, with a significant data science portion as well.  You will be focused on providing a simple, elegant user experience for our customers.
  •  You will work with us as we continue defining our tech stack.  We will be building a web application with a focus on data visualization and a backend service performing automated statistical analysis.
  • Since we work with sensitive customer data, quality and security are paramount for us.  You will help us think through the tradeoffs and ensure we keep our standards high.
  • Data science and customer success
  • You will work with our team to provide new data, insights, and recommendations for our customers about their Marketing performance.
  • You will help us maintain a high-quality bar by exercising careful judgment to ensure that we are drawing valid conclusions from the data at hand.
  •  You will contribute to choosing the statistical and machine learning methods we are using, learning their underlying capabilities, and improving them over time.
  • Contributing to product definition
  • You will influence what we build in addition to how we build it.  We believe that for what we’re building, customer feedback is essential at every step of the way.  You will participate in customer research, and this will inform the product decisions you’ll be making.
  • You will lead the process of defining product requirements for your projects, making sure that we are building the right thing.

Requirements:

  • Full-stack engineer with at least 6 years of experience.  You don’t need to have extensive experience in both frontend and backend, but you should have depth in one and basic experience in the other.
  • Owning projects and making tradeoffs.  You should have a track record of taking responsibility for delivery and keeping your projects on track.
  • Making technical decisions despite ambiguity.  You should already have some practice making decisions with imperfect information, while also having room to grow.
  • Some familiarity with data science, statistics, machine learning, or experimentation.  You don’t need to be a machine learning expert or a data scientist, but you should understand the basics of one of these fields.  You’ll have time after joining to gain depth.
  • Influencing product decisions.  You should have some experience contributing to the product side of your work, such as defining, advocating for, or crafting delightful user experiences.
