Senior Tax Manager &Team Lead

Our client, a privately held organization serving a large, extended family (family office) is seeking a Senior Tax Manager and Team Lead for their highly synergistic team. They need a tech-savvy professional who is willing to help in any capacity but is dedicated to leading a team of three and providing tax expertise to the clients of the organization.  



  • Manage a team of three tax managers with scheduling oversight and tax review
  • Provide organization and leadership to the group
  • Preparation of individual, gift, tax-exempt entities, fiduciary, corporation and partnership tax returns 
  • Clearly explain complex tax matters in simple terms
  • Research tax issues, primarily in the individual, partnership, estate, gift, charitable planning and generation-skipping tax arenas
  • Interface with counsel regarding the tax issues associated with high net-worth individuals and related entities
  • Monitor all significant tax law changes applicable to tax clients 
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of estate planning strategies
  • Provide other support to the tax and accounting departments, as needed
  • Some blog writing
  • Provide small business advice


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required, CPA, JD or MBA (Taxation) preferred
  • Minimum seven-plus years of experience in public accounting preferably with family office exposure or similar experience in a major bank trust accounting environment with fiduciary and individual tax responsibility
  • Experience managing a team
  • Exposure to high net-worth tax issues, including knowledge of fiduciary law, tax and estate planning
  • Familiarity with the use of GRATs, IDGTs, FLPs, and CLTs for wealth transfer and the related compliance
  • Proficient with tax preparation software (CCH’s ProSystem fx preferred) and Excel
  • Strong research capabilities using CCH, BNA or other research tools
